The Dojo had a team in the Relay for Life (24th and 25th September).

The RFL is the worlds largest fundraising event and something Sensei Darren has participated in for the last 4 years. It is a great social and community event that raises awareness as well as funds for the Cancer Council.

The Yamagawa team:
  • Total laps - 205
  • Total distance travelled - 82km
  • Total team members - 14
  • Total money raised - $1326.00

Fight for Life Seminar 2010

On the 6th and 7th of November 2010 a number of Fudoshin students participated in, a first of its kind, ‘Fight for life’ seminar. Over the two days 45 instructors, including Soke Tony Ball and Sensei Darren Ball, donated their time and shared their knowledge to raise money for cancer research.

Sempai Matt, Cyril, Shamus and Alice were amongst hundreds of eager martial artists taking part in this great event. This was an opportunity to learn under many highly regarded instructors with a buffet of martial knowledge and wisdom.

We are looking forward to the next ‘fight for life’ in 2012; hopefully bringing a larger contingent of open minded students.

Last Gradings of 2010

Saturday 8th August saw the second gradings for the year. It was so good to see many students, parents and friends in attendance, all to support those who were there for grading and those there for the specialist training.

There were 6 Black belt and 3 Brown Belts in attendance also which gave all students a great opportunity to be scrutinised under the watchful eyes of many of the senior Fudoshin Ryu members for Victoria.

The Fudoshin members of the Dai Nippon Butoku Kai gathered in Craigieburn on DATE NEEDED to once again engage in both practice and demonstration as part of Australia's first official DNBK Tai Kai.

It was good to catch up with fellow Martial Artists and renew friendships created at the International Rensei Tai Kai in Kyoto, Japan last year.
