A Dojo is a place of learning. It is special and should be treated with respect and courtesy, as all places of learning and education should. In Japanese, the word 'Dojo' refers to a 'place to study the way'.
At Yamagawa Budo, we take the meaning of the word literally, and in it's traditional sense. It is a place of enlightenment of sorts - of the physical, mental and spiritual kind. We follow traditional Japanese etiquette, following the Ways of the Warrior.

A training mat area is provided for majority of our training. Other items include shields, focus mits and safety gear.
Weapons training is done using own weapons. The dojo supplies Jo and Bo staff to beginners.
